samsung caught for copying apple, to pay $290m

United States district Judge, Lucy Koh has ordered samsung to pay $290million to apple in damages for copyright infringement after apple claimed 26 samsung devices copy iphone and ipad technology such as the "pinching" zoom on the touchscreen devices.

the jury found 13 other samsung models copy apple tech. a further trial has been scheduled in 2014 to determine whether samsung devices infringe on apple's ideas

the new damages ruling comes in addition to payments ordered at initial trial which were upheld, bringing total amount of damages to be paid by Samsung to $900 million
