tom cruise says religion caused his divorce

Star actor, Tom Cruise, has revealed that his belonging to the controversial Church of Scientology was one of the reasons why his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, filed for divorce and moved out with their daughter, Suri Cruise. A year after their divorce, Cruise admitted for the first time that Holmes filed for divorce, in part, to remove Suri away from his religion. During questioning at a trial for an ongoing lawsuit over a cover story with Bauer Media and In Touch magazine, Cruise admitted for the first time that Scientology was a contributing factor for their divorce. Cruise was recently being questioned about a magazine story which alleged that he abandoned his daughter, a story Cruise fought against. “The question is whether you believe the published contentions that Katie Holmes left you in part to protect Suri from Scientology, whether those are false,” Cruise was asked while on the stand, according to official court documents filed on November 5, 2013 and obtained by Radar Online. “Do you believe that is a false statement?” “I believe it is a false statement,” Cruise said. “And Miss Holmes has never indicated in any way that that was one of the reasons that she left you?” came the follow-up. “That is – that she left me because of?” Cruise clarified. “To protect Suri from Scientology,” the examiner said. “Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes,” Cruise revealed. Even though Cruise acknowledged that one of the reasons Holmes left him was his religion, he still was very angry about the claims Suri needed protection from Scientology. Cruise said, “I find it, those statements offensive. Like with any relationship, there are many different levels to it. You know, I, I find it very offensive. There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion.” Cruise: Hollywood’s highest paid actor Born on July 3, 1962 in the United States, Tom Cruise is often described by fans as a Hollywood actor with a difference.
